Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar — Stone Town

Fly from Kilimanjaro or Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar. Transfer to Stone Town and check in to your hotel. Afternoon guided walking tour of the UNESCO-listed historic quarter — ancient Arab merchant houses, carved wooden doors, the Sultan's Palace, Old Fort and Darajani Market. Evening at the famous Forodhani Gardens waterfront food market — fresh grilled lobster, octopus, Zanzibar pizza and fresh juice eaten with your feet in the sand. Overnight in Stone Town.

Day 2: Spice Farm Tour — Jozani Forest — Beach Hotel

Morning spice farm tour in the island's fertile heartland. Learn the story of the Spice Island through cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon and black pepper, and taste the difference between fresh and processed spices. After lunch, visit Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park — the only national park on Zanzibar Island and home to the rare endemic Red Colobus Monkey, found nowhere else on Earth. Walk through the ancient mahogany forest listening to the calls of these beautiful primates overhead. Transfer to your beach hotel for the remainder of the stay. Overnight at beach hotel.

Day 3: Dolphin Tour — Coral Reef Snorkeling

Early boat to Kizimkazi for dolphin swimming — spinner dolphins leap and play around the boat in the warm morning water. Snorkel the pristine offshore reef with colourful tropical fish, sea turtles and soft corals. Fresh seafood lunch at a local beach restaurant. Long afternoon of beach relaxation. Overnight at beach hotel.

Day 4: Sandbank Excursion — Sunset Dhow Cruise

Morning boat excursion to a nearby pristine sandbank or to Prison Island for giant tortoise viewing. Swim in impossibly blue, warm water over white sand. Return for lunch at your hotel. In the evening, board a traditional Zanzibar dhow for a magical sunset cruise along the coast — watching the sun sink below the horizon from the water as the island's skyline glows golden is one of Zanzibar's most romantic and memorable experiences. Day 5: Final Beach Morning — Departure

A final leisurely morning on the beach — the Indian Ocean glittering in the morning sun, one last swim, one last fresh coconut.
